These cubes may be used for imaging and mapping the thickness of sand beds, identifying minor faults and analyzing fluid properties in reservoirs. In this paper, we show an example of spectral decomposition using common frequency cubes and tuning cubes applied to interpretation of low‐frequency, high‐amplitude hydrocarbon detection in the Mananon Basin. We demonstrate that this method is an efficient approach to delineating the extent of reservoirs and the distribution of hydrocarbon within them.Permalink: https://doi.org/10.1190/1.3627383FiguresReferencesRelatedDetailsCited BySpectral decomposition application for appraisal of Miocene lowstand prograding wedge play, Indus Offshore, Pakistan: Implications for petrolum explorationMarine and Petroleum Geology, Vol. 118Detection of cretaceous incised-valley shale for resource play, Miano gas field, SW Pakistan: Spectral decomposition using continuous wavelet transformJournal of Asian Earth Sciences, Vol. 147 SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 2011ISSN (print):1052-3812 ISSN (online):1949-4645Copyright: 2011 Pages: 4424 Publisher:Society of Exploration Geophysicists HistoryPublished: 25 May 2012 CITATION INFORMATION Wei Xiaodong, Wang Xuejun, Zhang Yanqing, Cai Jiaming, and Shao Yongmei, (2011), "Application of spectral decomposition in hydrocarbon detection," SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts : 1041-1045. https://doi.org/10.1190/1.3627383 Plain-Language Summary PDF DownloadLoading ...
