Abstract
The power communication network is a special communication network of the power system. It can guarantee the safe and stable operation of the power grid. The existing power communication network has the problems of complicated network management and poor scalability, which is difficult to meet the requirements of the power system business. The new power communication network architecture based on Software Defined Network (SDN) has high performance, high reliability, and easy expansion and other features. This article first introduces the concept and deficiencies of the power communication network. Then the principle of SDN and the important communication protocol OpenFlow are introduced in detail. Based on these, the architecture of SDN applied to the power communication network is constructed. Finally, the development direction of sdn in the power communication network is prospected.
