Abstract

Transient stability study is an important assessment in electric power system stability studies. An accurate methodology ensures precise boundary of stability after the occurrence of a fault in the power system. Singular perturbation is an effective methodology in non-linear dynamics which provides accurate results. The methodology is illustrated on a five generator interconnected power system and simulation results are compared with other methodologies namely step-by-step and catastrophe theory method.
