Abstract

Objective To explore the application effects of Rockall risk score combined with stratified nursing among acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage (AUGH) patients. Methods From March 2017 to May 2018, we selected 121 AUGH patients at Chun'an First People's Hospital in observation group by convenience sampling method. From January 2016 to February 2017, we selected 109 AUGH patients in control group. Control group carried out routine nursing strategy, while observation group received the nursing model of Rockall risk score combined with stratified nursing. We compared the hemostasis time, hospital stay, rate of re-bleeding, mortality rate, incidence of complication and patient satisfaction with nursing. Results The hemostasis time and hospital stay of patients in observation group were less than those in control group with statistical differences [ (2.52±0.73) d vs. (3.14±0.85) d, P 0.05) . Patient satisfaction with nursing professional skill, service attitudes, nursing management, care for patients and health education of observation group were higher than those of control group with statistical differences (P<0.01) . Conclusions Rockall risk score combined with stratified nursing can effectively shorten the hemostasis time and hospital stay of AUGH patients, and improve patients' clinical outcomes, and help improve the nurse-patient relationship which is worthy of being widely used in clinical application. Key words: Nursing care; Stratified nursing; Rockall risk score; Acute upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage
