Abstract

Glazed pottery belonging to the Ilkhany period, excavated at Soltanieh, an old Iranian city, has been restored by superficial application of some of the oligomers to the samples and subsequent irradiation with gamma-rays. Complete polymerization of the oligomers is achieved and a thin transparent polymeric layer is formed, making the underlying figures of glaze which are discoloured fully apparent.
