Abstract

The semi-rotary VAWT (vertical axis wind turbine) has excellent aerodynamic characteristics and high wind energy efficiency, so it attracts much attention. In this paper, the PID controller based on BP network tuning is designed to ensure that the VAWT of this structure runs at the rated speed when the wind speed is higher. Compared with conventional PID controller, it proves that the PID controller based on BP network tuning can optimize the parameters of PID controller and achieve a better control for VAWT system through adjusting the weights.
