Abstract

Abstract The hydrophobic polystyrene membrane and superhydrophobic titania membrane with high adhesive force were fabricated by electrospinning with different electrospinning time. We have discussed the effect of electrospinning time on the membrane surface and proposed the ratio of the area of pores and the area of fibers (P = Sp/Sf) as a parameter for presenting the surface feature. Moreover, the relationship between the maximum adhesive forces and the surface properties is explained by Percolation Theory. It is found that P significantly affect the adhesive forces (F). P can be controlled by the electrospinning time. Therefore, the membrane with high adhesive force can be produced controllably by the electrospinning time easily.
