Abstract

This paper apply the optimal reset control method on conventional proportional-integral (PI) controllers for improvement of its performance in wind generation system (WGS) installed with a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG). Ideally, in order to realize the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) of the wind turbine, the rotational speed of turbine shaft should be a value which is direct proportional to the variable wind velocity. At the stator side, a space vector PWM (SVPWM) based rectifier is always employed in for the current controlling in the stator circuit. In industrial application, conventional PI scheme is the most widely used controller profiting from the simply configuration. However, PI controller inevitably will result in larger overshoot and long-time oscillation for the inertia of controller signal. Application of optimal reset control method aims at mitigating this inertia at any unnecessary time instant. Considering the industrial application, all controller designs are in discrete-time reset law. All simulations are based in MatLab/Simulink.
