INTRODUCTION

The source of the progress of any society is an idea and its subsequent implementation in practice. Passenger rail transport is one possibility to widen the range of the use of payment cards [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8]. In passenger rail transport cash payments and noncash payments are currently used only when purchasing tickets over the internet, and payment cards are used when purchasing tickets at the ticket office. The source of the presented data is the Slovak Banking Association These statistics provide relevant data about the number of payment cards issued in the Slovak Republic as well as the volume of transactions made with payment cards [16]. The given table demonstrates an increase in the number of payment cards as well as the volume of transactions made by payment cards.
