Abstract

Texture analysis with neutrons has turned out to be an effective tool in geosciences as well as in material science. The application of neutron diffraction for texture measurements is advantageous with respect to the recording of complete pole figures in transmission geometry and to the texture study of large samples, of coarse grained material and of multiphase and magnetic systems. Examples of texture analyses performed recently on our neutron four-circle diffractometer are presented for cold rolled titanium, for a quartz-magnetite ore and for magnetic hematite.
