Abstract

This paper presents considerations involved in designing with permanent magnets, with particular emphasis on motor applications. Considerations of motor design including design fundamentals, assembly and magnetization are also discussed. An example of using neodymium-iron-boron magnets compared to more traditional magnetic materials is presented.
