Abstract

The method used in the study was the multiple step change in shear rate, as well as the Kembłowski and Petera model for quantitative assessment of the thixotropic behaviour of cement pastes with and without application of a polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer. It was demonstrated that the Kembłowski and Petera model provides good matches for results of experimental testing in an assumed waiting time for the equilibrium state. In addition, it was demonstrated that the selection of the shear rate step value had no influence on model parameter values obtained.
