Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of multidisciplinary teamwork combined with enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) in perioperative period of patients with lumbar disc herniation. Methods A total of 160 patients with lumbar disc herniation admitted to the Orthopedics Department of Zhongnan Hospital of Wuhan University from June 2016 to June 2018 were selected by convenience sampling method and divided into control group and intervention group by random number table method with 80 cases in each. The control group received routine perioperative nursing. The experimental group developed the multidisciplinary team cooperation for lumbar disc herniation and accelerated the nursing process under the concept of ERAS. The first feeding time, the time of getting out of bed, the time of anal exhaust, the time of defection, the length of hospitalization, the hospitalization cost, the poin score and satisfaction score were compared between the two groups. Results The first feeding time, the time of getting out of bed, the time of anal exhaust, the time of defection, the length of hospitalization and the hospitalization cost of the intervention group were (0.36±0.05) d, (1.06±0.41) d, (2.27±1.56) d, (2.64± 0.36) d, (5.30±2.34) d and (33.1±17.8) thousand yuan respectively, which were all lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (t=-26.220, -13.102, -5.035, -17.868, -8.712, -2.306; P<0.05) . The pain scores at the 12th, 24th, 48th and 72nd hour after operation were all lower than those of the control group (P<0.05) . All the satisfaction scores of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05) . Conclusions Multidisciplinary teamwork combined with ERAS can effectively reduce the postoperative pain, promote the patient's early postoperative recovery and improve their satisfaction, which was a practical method worthy of popularization and application.
