Abstract

Objective To introduce Mini-CEX assessment tool and evaluate its effect in interns' clinical competence assessment of standardized residency training of internal medicine.Methods The object of study was 43 new interns who major in internal medicine engage in the standardized residency training.17 clinicians used the modified Mini-CEX with 7 factors of clinical core competence,including medical history taking and physical examination,etc,to evaluate the interns then made a feedback of satisfaction to the assessment.Results Physical examination showed positive correlation with the related six objective indicates,there was difference in scores composition of each index which were assessed by MiniCEX.The satisfaction of the teachers and interns for this assessment of Mini-CEX was up to 90%.Conclusions The assessment with the Mini-CEX in the standardized residency training of internal medicine makes it possible that the clinicians can observe the process of the student' s clinical work.Hence is beneficial to guide the student' s clinical training and supervise the process of clinical training and make dynamic written evaluation.
