Abstract

Objective To evaluate the application effects of mind map on the health education of rheumatoid arthritis patients.Methods A total of 60 rheumatoid arthritis patients were randomly divided into observation group ( n =30) and control group ( n =30).Nurses utilized mind map for the health education of observation group,and they gave oral education to the control group.Before discharge,the two groups' mastery of disease knowledge and satisfaction on health education were compared.After discharge 1 month,3 months and 6 months,the compliance of two groups were evaluated.Results The score of disease knowledge of observation group was ( 16.53 ± 2.52) which was significantly higher than ( 13.27 ± 2.83 ) of control group(t =4.728,P < 0.05 ).The score of satisfaction on health education of observation group was ( 16.93 ± 2.72),and that of control group was ( 15.13 ± 2.78 ),and the difference was statistically significant ( t =2.539,P < 0.05 ).The compliance of 1 month,3 months and 6 months after discharges of observation group were significantly higher than those of control group [( 15.90 ± 2.99 ) vs ( 13.87 ± 2.74 ),( 15.17 ± 2.90) vs ( 12.80 ± 2.78 ),(14.93 ± 2.99 )vs ( 12.83 ± 2.97 )],with significant differences ( t =2.748,3.223,2.781,respectively ; P <0.05).Conclusions It is advisable to adopt mind map in health education of rheumatoid arthritis patients for its convenient,practical and efficiency.
