Abstract
Objective To explore the feasibility and key points of micro-ventilator mechanical ventilation in patients with respiratory failure in long-distance transfer,in order to improve the success rate of transfer. Methods Large-capacity oxygen tank paralleled with micro-ventilator oxygen were used in 56 cases of respiratory failure patients in long-distance transfer, the effect of transfer was observed. Results Average pH value of central respiratory failure was (6.98 ± 0.03 ) before the transfer and (7.36 ± 0.03 ) after the transfer. The difference was statistically significant ( t =2.57,P < 0.05 ).The results of other blood-gas analysis had significant change before and after the transfer ( P < 0.05 ).PaO2 was normal.Neither acid-base balance disorder nor hypercapnia was found.Success rate of transfer was 100%.Conclusions It is feasible to use large-capacity oxygen tank as the source of oxygen for micro-ventilator mechanical ventilation in patients with respiratory failure. The method is worth extending in clinical application. Key words: Respiratory failure; Micro-ventilator; Large-capacity oxygen tank; Pre-hospital
