Abstract
The water-based heat insulation coatings were prepared based on self-made Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDH), kaolin, titanium dioxide, barium sulfate and talcum powder. The heat insulation effects of different fillers single use and Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDH) compound use with them were investigated. The results of heat insulation test experiments reveal that Self-made Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDH) shows good heat insulation effect. Furthermore, after combining LDH with kaolin and titanium dioxide, the heat insulation effect is improved obviously and shows a positive synergy effect; whereas combining LDH with barium sulfate, the heat insulation effect is reduced obviously and shows a negative synergy effect. Finally, the Mg-Al layered double hydroxides (LDH) and the reflection of the prepared film were characterized by X-ray Powder diffraction (PXRD) and ultraviolet visible diffused reflection (UV-DRS ), respectively. Moreover, the results indicated that the heat insulating effect is mainly caused by the reflection of the coating film.
