Abstract

Absorption equilibrium in water — cellulose system has been investigated using Knudsen's effusion method. Water vapor pressure was measured using a MI-1201 mass-spectrometer. The highest accuracy has been achieved for pressure range from 10 −4 Pa to 10 Pa where the molecular effusion takes place. A new method has been developed for the determination of evaporated water mass and cellulose humidity by means of mass-spectrometric data. The enthalpy and entropy values of water desorption have been found from vapor pressure dependence on temperature for sample humidity equal 0.39% to 20%.
