Abstract

It has been becoming more popular to incorporate symbolic computation to supplement college calculus and differential courses. This paper exemplifies the use of MACSYMA in solving second order ordinary differential equations and demonstrates the role of MACSYMA in the enhancement of teaching of an introductory ordinary differential equations course.
