Abstract

H2 evolution from photocatalytic decomposition by liquid phase plasma was examined over Ag-loaded photocatalysts. The effect of methanol addition into water was estimated in the photocatalytic water splitting. Photocatalytic activity of perovskite was also assessed in the photocatalytic water splitting. H2 was evolved in the photocatalytic splitting of water by reacting of active species. The photocatalytic activity for H2 generation of TiO2 prepared by sol-gel method was higher than that of commercial TiO2photocatalyst. The rate of H2 evolution was progressed with Ag loading on TiO2photocatalysts. The addition of methanol into water brought to a significant enhancement of H2 evolution. The methanol acted as an electron donor to increase the amount of H2 production.
