Abstract

A user interface is the most eminent aspect in industrial design. Thus, this research aims to analyze the prominent features that are responsible for increasing the efficiency using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM). It focuses on exploring the implementation of ISM and developing an integrated model to set the correlation between the various decidingfactors.ISM is used to study the various driving and dependency power of the variables that inhibit UI design. The degree of interdependence between the variables is established. This will help to prioritize essential factors first and work on them thus enhancing the quality and efficiency of UI. Any growing organization in UI design can use the interrelationship among the factors so as to improve or develop its user interface based on the analysis done. The maximum influenced factor can be recognized and the management will also get to know how much a particular factor influences another one. This will highlight the factors which need more attention. The concept of ISM has been used to study many issues in different domains, but application of a multi criteria decision making technique i.e. ISM in User Interface Design makes this paper unique in itself.
