Abstract
most of the medium and small scale power plants in china are operating with the poor economic performance and reliability because of the poor automation system. it is a good method to use the intelligent digital controller to reform the automatic control and instrument system of these power plants. this article summaries the application of a kind of intelligent controller in the control of the steam temperature of a boiler. the controlled process is analysed first and then a control strategy is designed to obtain good control performance, the control program is given also. about one year stable operation of this control system proves that the design of this system is successful.
