Abstract

In actual tunnel engineering, there are few ideal geological conditions, and the tunnel always cuts through areas with high incidence of geological disasters, which increases the difficulty of construction. In this paper, taking the special survey work of comprehensive geophysical exploration of a tunnel in unfavorable geological conditions as an example, we carried out geological prediction by high-power electrical sounding 3D imaging technology. The results indicated that the tunnel in unfavorable geological conditions was mainly a structural fracture zone with bountiful water, where geological disasters, such as collapse, water inrush, mud burst and water gushing, occurred easily during construction, and there were 4 serious unfavorable geological sections and 4 less serious unfavorable geological sections in DK0+180–DK0+760 sections of the tunnel. Thus, effective engineering measures should be taken to ensure the safety of tunnel construction. The geological prediction results were reliable, providing basic data and reference for future tunnel geological prediction.
