Abstract

In sorption technologies, surface modification of coals is widely used in order to increase their sorption capacity. The most promising method for improving the properties of materials of various structures is high-frequency plasma treatment. It was revealed that after the treatment of sorbents with low-pressure high-frequency capacitive plasma, materials are obtained with properties different from the original sorbent, characterized by increased sorption properties. Processes that affect the kinetics of adsorption and increase the sorption activity of activated carbon have been studied by FTIR spectroscopy.
