Abstract
Under the known trend towards the spread of drug resistant forms of M. tuberculosis the GIS-technology was implemented in the drug resistant tuberculosis epidemiological surveillance system. Purpose of the study. The evaluation of geographical distribution of extensively drug resistant tuberculosis cases in the city of Omsk. Materials and methods. We conducted a retrospective descriptive epidemiological research of the dynamics of extensively drug resistant M. tuberculosis spread in Omsk oblast in 2006-2017. We used QGISDesktop 2.4.0 to evaluate the geographical distribution of extensively drug resistant tuberculosis cases in Omsk city and Omsk area. Results. We found some evidence of clustering. There were five clusters with active transmission of tuberculosis. Conclusion. The new information about the clusters or «hot spots» of extensively drug resistant tuberculosis cases enables us to adjust the prophylactic measures in micro regions with high prevalence of the infection as well as to strengthen of tuberculosis control system.
