Abstract

In this paper, collision avoidance with many targets in open sea is treated as a problem of optimal control using the fuzzy set theory. Optimal safe ship trajectory in collision situation is presented as multistage decision-making in a fuzzy environment. The Collision Avoidance Regulations, the manoeuvrability parameters of the ship and the navigator’s subjective assessment in making a decision are taken under consideration in the process model. To prove application of the proposed conception two examples are simulated and presented in a graphical form.
