Abstract

Due to the conflict between Doppler ambiguity and distance ambiguity, tranditional single channel synthetic aperture radar (SAR) system fails to achieve azimuth high-resolution and wide-swath imaging at the same time. To mitigate this conflict,a range ambiguity resolution approach for high-resolution and wide-swath(HRWS) by using frequency diverse array(FDA) is proposed in this paper. FDA radar has slightly different transmit carrier frequency for different antenna elements, producing a controllable degree of freedom in range dimensional. In this paper, the property of FDA is used to separate different distance echoes at spatial frequency and then different ambiguity regions image will be formed separately by using traditonal SAR imaging method. Simulation experiment results have verified the effectiveness of the proposed method.
