Abstract

New data for uranium isotopes, aluminium, oxygen and water for the multigroup constants library of the WIMS lattice code have been generated. The assumptions and approximations in processing the data from evaluated data files have been presented. New WIMS libraries based on ENDF/B-IV and ENDF/B-VI evaluated data files have been constructed. Published results based on the ENDF/B-IV library were used as numerical benchmarks against which the parameters calculated with the new ENDF/B-IV based library were compared. The main result is a WIMS library generated from ENDF/VI data, without any adjustments to the multigroup data set. Comparing the calculated integral parameters based on the updated library with the measured values for five light water benchmark lattices it can be concluded, that the performance of the new library is very good and offers a significant improvement compared to the original WIMS library. Almost all the parameters are within the experimental uncertainty limits of the measurements.
