Abstract
Objective To investigate the application and effect of needle knife in the treatment of tracheal stenosis. Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 32 patients with tracheal stenosis caused by tracheotomy or tracheal intubation in our department from April 2014 to January 2016.All patients were under general anesthesia, and the treatment methods were: ① giving needle knife ring excision of fibrotic tissue and combined with balloon dilation; ② giving needle knife radial incision of scar tissue and combined with balloon dilation. Results after treatment, the symptoms, such as shortness of breath, of 18 cases with simple mesh stenosis were markedly improved, the stenosis dilated, and trachea stenosis did not obvious retraction; and for the 14 cases with complex stenosis, 3 mixed constriction patients were clinical cure, 3 mixed constriction patients were effective, 3 bottle neck stenosis patients were clinically cured, 1 bottle neck stenosis patients were effective, and 4 cases were ineffective after treatment. Conclusions Needle shaped electric knife can play an important role in the treatment of benign central airway stenosis, especially in patients with narrow scar or longer stenosis, which is worthy of popularization and application in clinical practice.
