Abstract

Through the graphic description of electronic data interchange (EDI) data transmission process, this paper presents the configuration and advantages of the EDI system, and specifically states its wide use in international logistics. The transmission of data produced by the international logistics is tracked in a flow chart, and the application of EDI in Customs department is meticulously analyzed. Finally, the current application of EDI around China is studied, some problems faced in the application of EDI in small and medium-sized enterprises in China are put forward, and thorough discussion and suggestions are made on the newly established Northeast Asian logistics information service network.
