Abstract

The power transmission projects are one of the important parts of the power grid. However, due to large amount of complex work quantity and harsh natural environment of the located area of some transmission lines, the operation and maintenance work of the power transmission projects are difficult and rely heavily on professional experience. Therefore, in order to improve the efficiency and save manpower and financial resources, this paper applied the digital twin (DT) technology on the operation and maintenance of power transmission projects. With the assistance of DT technology, virtual power transmission projects model in the digital world could be analyzed to infer faults that will occur in the real world. In this case, operation risk could be prevented and potential failure could be remedied in advance. It only needs to monitor the state of virtual body remotely, no longer need to monitor the entity frequently, and locate the fault location accurately, and does not need to carry out the overall repair. The DT technology made the operation and maintenance work in power transmission projects more efficient.
