Abstract

Des- gamma- carboxy prothrombin(DCP) ,as well as alpha-fetoprotein(AFP) ,has been considered as a useful serological tumor marker for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC). As a clinical tumor marker of HCC, DCP has been accepted and widely used in clinic for many years. DCP and AFP have no significant correlation, and are complementary in the diagnosis of HCC. Combined detection of these two serological tumor markers in high-risk patients helps to the diagnosis of HCC in early stage. Moreover, these tumor markers can be used in the evaluation of therapy efficacy and prognosis. Key words: Prothrombin; Carcinoma, hepatocellular; Diagnosis; Prognosis
