Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of perioperative delirium nursing intervention in elderly patients with hip fracture. Methods The perioperative delirium nursing intervention program for elderly patients with hip fracture was formulated by referring to the delirium nursing guidelines for inpatients in the national guidelines resource center of the United Kingdom, and was applied to 69 elderly patients with hip fracture, and compared with 59 patients receiving routine nursing care, to observe the incidence of postoperative delirium. Results The incidence of postoperative delirium in elderly patients with hip fracture decreased from 30.50% before the intervention to 13.04% after the intervention, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). Conclusions Implementation of perioperative delirium nursing intervention program of elderly hip fracture can reduce the incidence of postoperative delirium of elderly hip fracture.
