Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of continuous quality improvement ( CQI ) in control of potential danger during transfer of patients in department of gastroenterology.Methods 200 patients who had been hospitalized during the period of 2009 to 2010 and needed to be transferred inside the hospital were assigned to receive conventional care management ( 100 patients,control group ) or CQI management ( 100 patients,study group ).Results As compared with the control group,the rates of potiental danger and accident during transfer were markedly declined in the study group ( P < 0.05 ).The rate of patient satisfaction was significantly higher in the study group than in the control group ( P < 0.01 ).Conclusions CQI management can obviously decrease the potential danger during transfer of patients in department of gastroenterology and enhance patient satisfaction.
