Abstract

2-D-conductivity structures with non-uniform source fields are considered theoretically using conformal mapping. As an example, a line current source is studied. A short discussion on a plane wave source is also included. The advantage of the method is that it gives expressions of the electromagnetic field in a closed form. The method is restricted to perfect conductors only. However, in studies of the field on the Earth's surface, real Earth structures can often be approximated by suitable ideal conductors
