Abstract
Data from the literature and our own results are used to analyze the load life of non-oxide ceramic electric radiators. Silicon nitride ceramic radiators operating in the thermal cycling mode are shown to have a load life of more than 2000 on-off cycles. The load life correlates with the magnitude and sign of the temperature resistance coefficient (TRC) of the resistive layer of the functional composite.
