Abstract

This paper discusses how Perkins Engines Ltd has approached the requirement for quantitative reliability assessment of its products. Two distinct systems are described, the first is a suite of interactive computer programs for the analysis of mainly development and field test data; the second is an automated computer system for the analysis of warranty claim data. Examples of output from the two systems are presented and plans for further enhancements briefly outlined.
