Abstract

The utilization rate of steel slag (SS) in China is much lower than that in developed countries. In this study, water-cooled SS and hot-spray poured SS were analyzed as raw materials. Six kinds of composite SS mixtures with different mixing proportions were then designed, and their properties such as expansion rate, California bearing ratio (CBR) and modulus of resilience were examined. Based on the different mixing proportions of SS, and regression analysis, the conversion relationship between CBR value and subgrade resilience modulus were recommended. Finally, the composite SS subgrade settlement was analyzed by ABAQUS, and the economic benefits were analyzed.
