Abstract

In the fast-paced changing world, the composite materials have created their own significant space and so they are used for various applications. Due to the lightweight and excellent mechanical properties, they are used for engineering as well as architectural applications. Today, automobile bodies and aircraft fuselage are mostly manufactured using synthetic and natural fiber-reinforced composite materials. All the above applications enclosed air cavity inside it. The composite panels are very light and attenuate or radiate sound when excited. The excited or radiated sound also disturbs the air inside the cavity. Due to this, there is a strong or a weak coupling between the composite panel and the air inside the enclosed structure. In this regard, it is of value to study the effect of composite materials for the air radiation inside the cavity. This review aims to provide an overview of the effect of composite materials and their properties for sound radiation. In this paper, the effect of composite properties such as fiber volume fraction, fiber orientation, fiber density for the sound radiation has been discussed. This paper will convey the general application of composite material for the vibroacoustic.
