Abstract

This publication (of 119 pages) represents the proceedings of a roundtable on the application of competition policy to high-tech markets that was held at the OECD in April 1996. The proceedings include a background note from the US FTC and submissions from 2 OECD countries outlining the issues that have arisen in the application of competition law to high-tech sectors. Issues covered include the issues relating to the definition of the relevant market, the concept of innovation markets and economic factors affecting R&D expenditure.
