Abstract

Objective To investigate the application effect of closed suction catheter to the mechanical ventilation of newborn pneumonitis. Methods A total of 35 severe pneumonia children were received in our NICU with tracheal intubation to conduct mechanical ventilation. Closed suction catheter was used to suck phlegm and compare the physiological sign changes before and after sucking phlegm. Results SPO and heart rate had no significant change before and after using closed suction catheter to suck phlegm. Conclusion Closed suction catheter can effectively clear the secretions of air passage in this group, and the influence is small on the physiological signs of children, which can reduce consumable items, cost, save time, reduce the workload of nurse.
