Abstract

The processes of doping of the electrodeposited poly- ortho-aminophenol (POAP) films with different anions under the regime of cyclic voltammetry were analyzed by the application of “Chaotic Logistic Map”. Under the conditions of low levels of dopant and low to medium potential sweep rates, the process was indeed of non-linear and dissipative nature and a very good fit of time derivative of charge vs. charge to a Logistic Map was experienced. At higher levels of all anions, especially in the case of Cl −, the dissipative processes occur less favorably and deviations from the Logistic Map are significant. Also, under the fast sweep rates, the anions incorporate into the film to a much lesser extent than the almost free flow concept predicts, and again, deviations are extensive.
