Abstract

Because of simple construction, short duration, and less investment, Cement Fly-ash Gravel (CFG) pile composite foundation is applied widely in reinforcing soft soil roadbed of high-speed railway construction of China at present. The construction technique and quality control method of CFG pile with the length of more than 28m are described in detail through the example of a typical section of the Wuhan-Guangzhou railway passenger special line. Based on the on-site pore water pressure monitoring, the mechanism and influence factors of the environment problems in long spiral CFG pile construction is known and the solution methods are effective. A new design calculation method of controlling post-construction settlement of CFG pile composite foundation is suggested. The field test results shows that the CFG pile of this engineering can meet the requirements of roadbed capacity and 5cms post-construction settlement in soft soil zone of railway passenger special line.
