Abstract

Objective To explore the application effect of catheter risk assessment scale on the prevention of catheter slippage in patients with catheterization in the department of cardiology. Methods A total of 276 patients with a variety of catheters were randomly divided into the control group with 136 patients and the observation group with 140 patients. The patients in the control group were given the routine nursing methods. The patients in the observation group were evaluated by using catheter risk assessment scale and given predictive nursing according to the risk classification. The incidences of catheter slippage and security events were compared between the two groups. Results The total incidences of catheter slippage in the observation group was 2.26%,and 11.73% in the control group, there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (Z =-4.831,P =0.000) ; The incidences of security events in the observation group was 6.48%,and 25.23% in the control group, there was statistically significant difference between the two groups (x2 =-49.632,P =0.000).Conclusions The application of catheter risk assessment scale can minimize the risk of catheter slippage, and improve the ability of risk identification and processing of nurses in department of cardiology.
