Abstract

The results of simulating of a rolling process and selecting the optimal deformation conditions and the QForm software package are used to develop a technology for manufacturing ring workpieces with an outer diameter of 660 mm made of an intermetallic orthorhombic VIT1 titanium alloy. The conditions of heat treatment of the VIT1 alloy ring workpiece are selected. The structure of the ring workpiece in various directions and the mechanical properties of the ring workpiece material are comprehensively studied. The strength characteristics are found to be at a satisfactory level. A sample of the bling guide of a high-pressure compressor is made for the first time from an orthorhombic VIT1 alloy.
