Abstract

In this paper, an alternating direction implicit (ADI) technique is applied to the recently developed multi-resolution time domain (MRTD) method. This method solves the stability problem restricted by MRTD method. The general difference formulas for ADI-MRTD are deduced. In order to demonstrate the computational accuracy and efficiency of this method, a ACPW structure is simulated and the characteristic impedance of ACPW is calculated. The numerical results of this method are compared with those obtained by the conventional FDTD method. It is found that this method is accurate and efficient.
