Abstract

Trauma brain injuries (TBI) are very complex injuries, so one must understand them to study, threat and prevent. To achieve these premises, simpler studies must be made. For these reasons, our proposal of developing a virtual platform of the human cranium (VPHC) is tested in a situation of a blowout fracture. This platform has the BioCAD protocol as its base of development, passing through computed tomography (CT) treatment software, a computer aided design (CAD) software and a finite element method (FEM) analysis software to achieve its current state. The results obtained in the simulation are in accordance to what is described in the literature for this kind of injuries, validating it. The VPHC is intended to be an open platform, adaptable to the user and/or patient, for innovative study, prevention and treatment of trauma.
