Abstract

A method based on the use of a perfectly matched layer is proposed for creating a nonreflecting boundary involved in the simulation of ultralong electromagnetic wave propagation in the spherical Earthionosphere waveguide channel. It is shown that this channel provides for the attenuation of electromagnetic waves propagating in a perfectly matched layer along a radio path. A system of differential equations describing the propagation of electromagnetic waves in this region is presented.
