Abstract

The article describes a method of calculating active power losses in a three-core cable taking into account the temperature of its current-carrying conductors. Because of the difficulty of constant temperature measurement of current carrying conductors of a power cable during its operation, it is proposed to use its mathematical model of thermal processes. It is also proposed to use easily accessible statistical data on changes in the ambient temperature in the area of its laying in the calculation of active power losses. For this, a mathematical model of the thermal processes of a three-core power cable is developed, a methodology for calculating its parameters is also presented. The dependences of the losses of active power in current-carrying cores on the load current based on the mathematical model under study, using the temperature dependence of the resistance of current-carrying conductors of a three-core cable and taking into account the ambient temperature.
