Abstract

Results obtained during the verification process of the new Zelivka Waterworks, which is equipped with a reactor containing a fluidised layer of silica sand are described in this paper. It was established that a fluidised layer of granular material represents an improved method for the application of shear to destabilised particles with respect to the kinetics of the aggregation process and of the character of formed aggregates. The separation of aggregates by filtration was enhanced compared to conventional aggregation processes.
